How to Place an Order
Policies Regarding Potential Fees
Pre-Event Fees
For all events that occur and/or run after 6pm on weekdays and all weekend events, there will be a $25.81 per server per hour event labor fee that will include the labor needed for your event set up, the length of your event, and clean up.
For events requiring service, please note that on evenings (after 6pm) and weekends a service fee of $25.81 per server per hour will apply if your event time exceeds 1 hour.
If the proper amount of time is not allowed for set up there will be a $25.81 service fee per additional server required to accommodate shortened time.
Potential Fees to be applied AFTER an event
A service fee will apply for any events if we are asked to come back at a later time other than your stated end time for cleanup.
Bud vases and Buffet Florals are provided for décor at events catered by Bon Appétit. A service charge of $106.75 will be applied for any arrangements taken.
All platters, plates, silverware, serving utensils, etc. are property of Bon Appétit and are required for other events. All items must be picked up by Bon Appétit at the stated clean up time. If any items are missing there will be a $26.69 charge per item.
If you request additional linens from our servers there will be a $4.70 charge per linen.
If you request to-go boxes from our servers there will be a $0.58 charge per box.
Food and Beverage
All food and beverage are to be consumed on the premises during the scheduled event. Food and beverages not consumed during the event remain the property of Bon Appétit. Food and beverages are to be purchased from Bon Appétit exclusively. Bon Appétit and Biola University must approve any request for changes to this policy prior to the event.
Guarantee
In arranging for catered events, attendance must be specified by 10am, three (3) business days in advance of the event to allow ample time for the ordering process. This number will be your guarantee and will be considered your final count which is not subject to reduction. Increases to your guarantee after said date are subject to approval by the Catering Director and will incur service charges.
Ordering Time Frames
We prefer one full working weeks notice for orders off of our regular menu. Orders placed within 72 hours of event time are subject to confirmation. You must contact the Catering Office if placing an order within this time frame.
We require two weeks notice for special request menus.
We require two weeks notice for groups over 100 people.
Set Up and Clean Up Times
We require 2 hours set up time and 1 hour clean up time for events involving chinaware (served or buffet) so please request your room reservations/table set ups accordingly.
We require 1 hour set up time and clean up time for cookie/beverage set ups so please request your room reservations/table set ups accordingly.
Please note that room reservations and table set ups must be placed through Event Services Campus Coordination.
Service Times
Please note that we require 1 hour of service time for meals that require a table served entree. This 1 hour begins at the designated meal service time. If you have a program please keep this time frame in mind as it is difficult to offer excellent service while a program is in progress.
Plated Service:
We provide food based on your guaranteed number. If you have a number of guests that do not attend, based on your guaranteed number, please alert the manager at the beginning of service if you would like those meals boxed up.
Buffets (Includes: Continental Breakfast, All Hot Food Buffets, All Hors d’oeuvres, Fruit, Vegetable and Cheese Platters, and Specialty Buffets):
We provide bountiful amounts based on your guaranteed number in order for the last guest through the buffet to receive the same selection as the first person. Please note that pricing is based on all remaining food returning to Bon Appetit.
Hot Buffets with Service:
We provide food based on your guarantee number. If you have a number of guests that do not attend, based on your guaranteed number, please alert the manager at the beginning of service if you would like those meals boxed up. If you require any additional meals boxed up beyond your guarantee number a charge per to-box will apply.
Items by the dozen:
Only items ordered by the dozen (cookies, pastries, brownies, etc) are yours to take with you. This does not include buffets, continental breakfast, fruit, vegetable, cheese and cracker platters, etc. To-go boxes will be made available for items ordered by the dozen if requested when you place your order for an additional charge.
Service items are not to be removed from any catering event or an additional fee will apply.
Linens
Linens are provided at no extra charge for all food/beverage tables Bon Appetit uses for any catered event set up. Linens are provided for guest tables with Specialty Buffets or Table Served Entrée orders. House colors are black, white, red, or ivory tablecloths. If you require linens for additional tables please order 2 weeks in advance. Last minute orders will result in a $45 charge for expedited delivery.
